Naming of St. Bernard


The name "St. Bernard" originates from traveler's auberge on the generally betraying St. Bernard Canyon in the Western Alps amid Switzerland and Italy, area the name was anesthetized to the bounded dogs. The pass, the lodge, and the dogs are alleged for Bernard of Menthon, the 11th aeon abbot who accustomed the station.
"St. Bernard" wasn't in boundless use until the average of the 19th century. The dogs were alleged "Saint Dogs", "Noble Steeds", "Alpenmastiff", or "Barry Dogs" afore that time.
